Just a quick post today, but I think it’s a useful piece of advice to follow.
Make sure you can write your ideas down no matter where you are or what you are doing! Think about how many times you’ve had an idea that you’ve thought you could run with, only to discover that when you do get a chance to write it down the key information has slipped your mind.
Half the time you end up with an idea that resembles the breakthrough you had while you were riding the bus to work, or just nodding off to sleep – but how often do you feel like the real ‘light bulb’ has passed you by?
This is especially important if you’re writing a blog, the number of good ideas for posts that can come and go is astounding, trust me I’ve had the same problem in the past.
It’s not exactly easy coming up with something new to say on a daily or bi-daily basis so make sure you keep the ideas that you do have, and not waste time ‘thinking’ about what you want to say right when you need to be saying it.
There’s no better way to develop a list of ‘topics’ than to just write down all your random ideas and then review them when you need to let loose with your next stunning blog post.
You’ll probably find that it’s easy to construct a 300-500 word article off the back of any number of these random ideas that it’ll keep you going for days or weeks even.
So, get a notebook, use your mobile phone, send yourself an email, just make sure you keep track of every one of those ideas that you have – what’s the worst that can happen?
All the best.
